You’re invited to participate in the 2022 HSA Survey on Diversity Demographics

Earlier this month, the first Bi-Annual HSA Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Report was released. The report provided key definitions, goals, and principles that set out a foundation for shared understanding of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion issues and terms. It also described four priority areas of focus for the coming months, first of which was a demographic survey to members.

Today we are launching the HSA Survey on Diversity Demographics. All HSA members are invited and encouraged to participate in this confidential and anonymous survey. Your participation will help shape the justice, equity, decolonization and inclusion (JEDI) portfolio at HSA as we move forward on this important work. Those who complete the survey will also be entered to win one of three $200.00 Visa cash cards.

The main goal associated with the survey is to produce a comprehensive union-wide needs assessment. The results will help us understand more about who HSA members are and will identify the representational, educational and resource requirements of members and our union. What we learn from the demographic survey will also form the basis for another priority focus: creating one or more justice, equity, decolonization and inclusion (JEDI) Working Group(s).

We acknowledge that filling out demographic surveys can feel uncomfortable as it asks personal questions in a manner that can feel cold and uncaring. Please know that we will listen carefully to, and take care of, your responses. More information on the collection, use and disclosure of this information is provided at the beginning of the survey. Should you have any further questions, please email Heather Williams, Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at @email .  Contact @email if you did not receive an email invitation to participate in the survey.

The survey will remain open until June 30th, 2022.
