Region 4 Regional Director Election

Hannah Allen has been acclaimed to represent HSA members in Region 4 on the HSA Board of Directors.

Hello Region 4 Members,

My name is Hannah Allen. I am an Occupational Therapist living and working on the traditional, stolen lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) peoples, and I currently work with the Richmond Mental Health Team. I am asking for your support to remain your Region 4 Director.

Since joining the Board of Directors in July, I have worked to represent our region with integrity, transparency, and care. The past seven months have been busy and meaningful. Together, we demonstrated our collective strength and our commitment to fair and respectful treatment for health care workers.

One word guides my work: solidarity. As Regional Director, I bring this value forward through three priorities—advocacy, communication, and shared values.

Advocacy: I am committed to standing up for our members and our region. During my term, I confronted decision-makers at all levels about the affordability crisis in the Lower Mainland, demanding solutions that allow us to continue living in the communities we serve. I also believe strong labour advocacy includes standing with equity-denied communities. I am committed to supporting decolonization, anti-racism, and to opposing anti-trans and anti-2SLGBTQIA+ hate, working to make HSA a safer and more inclusive space.

Communication: I prioritize transparent, two-way communication. I have attended chapter meetings, visited worksites, and connected directly with members to understand your concerns and ideas. I will continue listening closely, sharing information openly, and explaining how and why decisions are made.

Shared Values: In a divided world, our shared values are a source of strength. By focusing on what unites us, we can achieve more together.

I humbly ask for your vote. Together, in solidarity, we can continue building a stronger HSA.

Allen was acclaimed after the deadline for nominations passed with no further nominations.

HSA Region 4 includes HSA members working at Vancouver Hospital & Health Sciences Centre (all sites), Richmond Chapter, and Dogwood Lodge.
