My name is Kieran Shoker. I was born in Punjab and immigrated to Canada with my family at the age of 11. I earned my pharmacy degree from the University of British Columbia and currently work as a clinical oncology pharmacist at BC Cancer in Prince George, located on the unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh.

I have been a pharmacist since 2004 and a proud HSA member since 2012. For ten years, I served as the Lead Steward at my worksite, advocating for my colleagues and ensuring that our rights were protected and respected. I have also had the privilege of serving as a Member-at-Large for Region 10, contributing to our union through my work on the Trials, Resolutions, and Political Action Committees. Since July 2025, I have had the honour of serving as the Region 10 Director.

I am a member of the current Health Sciences Professionals Bargaining Association (HSPBA) bargaining committee, and I have represented HSA in the past two rounds of bargaining as well. I also serve as an HSA delegate to the North Central Labour Council, helping build connections across the broader labour movement.

Before entering the public sector, I spent eight years working in private, non‑unionized community pharmacies, which gave me firsthand insight into the essential role unions play in protecting workers’ rights, safety, and dignity.

My vision for Region 10 is to continue building a connected and empowered membership where every member feels supported and able to participate fully. I am committed to strengthening communication, steward development, and our collective capacity to address workplace challenges.

I am passionate about defending the hard-won protections, benefits, and dignity that the labour movement has secured—and I remain committed to strengthening them for the future.
