Greenhalgh re-elected to represent Region 3 members on HSA Board of Directors

 

Cheryl Greenhalgh has been re-elected to serve a two-year term as a member of the HSA’s Board of Directors, representing HSA members in Region 3 from several worksites spanning from Burnaby Hospital to Eagle Ridge Hospital and SHARE Community Services in the Tricities.

Greenhalgh is a medical radiation technologist at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, where she serves as a steward, in addition to her role as the union’s Secretary Treasurer for the past two years.

Two candidates declared in first online election for Region 7 representative on HSA Board of Directors

Two candidates have been nominated to represent HSA members working in Region 7 on the union’s board of directors.
 
The two candidates in the election are Jas Giddha and Edith MacHattie.
 
The successful candidate will assume the position of Regional Director for a two-year term at the conclusion of HSA's 2019 annual convention. Candidate statements will be included with voting information sent to members by email or postal mail.
 

Four candidates declared in first online election for Region 5 representative on HSA Board of Directors

Four candidates have been nominated to represent HSA members working in Region 5 on the union’s board of directors.
 
The candidates in the election are Ramzan Anjum, John Christopherson, Carla Gibbons, and Jill Slind.
 
The successful candidate will assume the position of Regional Director for a two-year term at the conclusion of HSA's 2019 annual convention. Candidate statements will be included with voting information sent to members by email or postal mail.

Nominations open for HSA president

HSA’s 2019 annual convention will include an election for the position of president. The two-year term begins at the adjournment of the 2019 convention, set for April 4 and 5, 2019 in Vancouver.
 
The president is HSA’s senior elected officer, and acts as the CEO of the union, overseeing the union’s day to day operations, including staffing and budget management. The president is the union’s primary spokesperson and ensures that the policies and decisions of annual conventions and the board of directors are carried out.
 

Hale elected to HSA Board of Directors

HSA members in Region 8 have elected Cherylee Hale as their representative on the union’s Board of Directors. Her election is effective immediately for a two-year term that ends at conclusion of HSA’s annual convention in 2020.

Hale is a cardiology technologist working at Penticton Regional Hospital and Kelowna General Hospital. She has also worked at Kootenay Lake Hospital and Trail Regional Hospital. For 28 years throughout her working career, she has been an active union member, initially with HEU and then as an HSA member.
