Today we got some very exciting news! More than a decade ago, the CEO of Cambie Surgery Centre, Dr. Brian Day, launched a legal attack against public health care by seeking to strike down critical sections of the BC Medicare Protection Act.

As part of the 2019-2022 collective agreement, a joint working group of the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association (HSPBA) and Health Employers’ Association of BC (HEABC) was established to continue the work of modernizing the HSPBA Classification System to address anomalies and regularize a number of professions and professional practice issues that have developed in a changing health care system.

Rescheduled HSA Annual Convention headlines a busy fall of union activity and education As the summer of 2020 wraps up, the union is gearing up for a busy fall of union meetings and education opportunities for members   The union’s 49th annual convention, postponed from April 2-3 because of the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, has been rescheduled to November 16-17. It will be conducted online.
