HSA is pleased to offer a workshop examining ways for men in the union to actively support gender equity. Understanding how power, privilege, and oppression work is critical to fighting for equity, justice and excellence. We all come at this from different places, and men, as part of an historically dominant group, have a different but very important role to play.
HSA is pleased to offer a one-day workshop focused on the impact domestic violence has on workers and workplaces, and the role of employers and unions in keeping workplaces safe.
The workshop will feature two guest experts: Anne Davis, an HSA member and transition house worker with expertise and training in anti-violence, and Kamal Dhillon, author of I am Kamal: Survivor to Thriver!, an autobiographical account of her experiences of domestic violence.

The Health Sciences Association of BC is pleased to announce $3 million in new funding for professional development of health science professionals. The new funding, secured from the BC Ministry of Health, is the latest in the union’s long-standing program of support for the professional development of members, building on $3 million provided in 2018 and another $3 million in 2021.
HSA is pleased to offer this one-day virtual workshop specifically designed for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) stewards and Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) representatives working to support members with their occupational health and safety concerns.

Registration for the 2022 Summer Institute for Union Women (SIUW) has opened! This year’s Institute will take place from Thursday, June 23 through Saturday, June 25. Attendees of this three-day virtual leadership institute will take part in skill-building workshops, cultural activities, political action and education sessions designed to expand their understanding of solidarity and build connections.
